Privacy Policy

This policy explains what OctaNova (sole proprietorship of Sudhanshu Kumar), GSTIN 10KWHPK2032M1ZL, registered in Bihar, India collects when you use OctaVerse, and why.

What we collect

• Mobile number — used to sign you in via one-time code and to identify your account
• Name — optional, if you choose to add it
• Purchase records — which course you bought, when, the amount, and the payment reference from Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details; those go directly to Razorpay
• Learning activity — which lessons you have opened and completed, so the app can show your progress
• Usage events — for example that you viewed a course page or opened checkout, used to understand where people drop off

What we do with it

• Give you access to the courses you have paid for
• Issue GST-compliant invoices, which Indian law requires us to keep
• Send you course-related messages: class reminders, new lesson notices, announcements
• Occasionally contact you about a course you looked at but did not buy. You can ask us to stop at any time

Who we share it with

Only the services needed to run the platform: Google Firebase (authentication and database, hosted in Mumbai), Razorpay (payments), Bunny.net (video delivery), and Netlify (hosting). We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

Watermarking

To deter piracy, your mobile number is overlaid faintly on lesson videos while you watch. It is not visible to other students.

Retention

Purchase and invoice records are kept for the period required by Indian tax law (currently 8 years). Other data is kept while your account is active.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, subject to the retention required by law. Contact us at the details on the Contact page.

Children

The Service is intended for users aged 16 and over. Under-18s should use it with a parent's or guardian's consent.

Cookies

We use only the storage necessary to keep you signed in and remember your display preference. We do not run advertising trackers.
